'DOULU CONTINENT': HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL NOVEL ADAPTATION'S DRAMA

Doulu Continent successfully carved names into a row of dramas with an extensive successful broadcast volume. 

The drama, starring Xiao Zhan and Wu Xuan Yi, results from an adaptation of the famous novel by Tang San Shao entitled 'Soul Land / Doulu Dalu.' Before being made in the form of Live Action Drama, the novel was first adapted into Donghua (Chinese Animation) of the same title, 'Soul Land / Doulu Dalu.'

Why is this drama said to be a high success? Because Doulu Continent became the only TV series with a score of 3 in 2021. The cumulative number of broadcasts of this drama has exceeded 2.57 billion times, with the highest broadcast record of 211 million in a day. This drama gets a high rating on three drama rating websites: 8.4/10 on MyDramalist, 8.2/10 at IMDB, and 9.4/10 on Viki.

Besides success in terms of broadcast, this drama also won various awards. So far, recorded this drama has won 13 awards in multiple categories. Some are Wetv Awards 2021 in the Best of Chinese series category and drama's favorite, and Weibo Night 2021 in the Most Popular Drama of the Year category.

This drama focuses on adventure, friendship, and family that has an exciting plot, which tells about Tang San's (Xiao Zhan) journey in improving his spirit master ring. He also made friends with Gu Xiao Wu (Wu Xuan Yi) and decided to enter the Shi Lanke (Shrek) Academy together. In this academy, they got a colleague and increased strength together until finally they were nicknamed 'Shi Lanke (Shrek) Seven Devils '. And this is where their adventure begins.

In addition to its exciting plot, one of the factors supporting this drama's success is its CGI effect, which captivates the eyes. CGI presented in this drama is one of the best, with a smooth and looks natural. Another equally important factor is that this drama is cooperating with talented and beautiful young actors, such as Xiao Zhan (Tang San), Wu Xuan Yi (Xiao Wu), Gao Tai Yu (Dai Mu Bai), Liu Mei Tong (Zhu Zhu Qing), Liu Run Nan (Ou Si Ke), Ding Xiao Ying (Ning Rong Rong), and Ao Zi Yi (Ma Hong Jun).

Another interesting additional factor of this drama is the soundtrack, sung directly by the actors. The opening theme song, 'Standing Proudly at the Edge of the Clouds,' was sung by Gao Tai Yu, Ao Zi Yi, and Liu Run Nan. The ending theme song, ' Starry River (星河),' was sung by Wu Xuan Yi. In addition, Xiao Zhan, who plays the main character (Tang San), also has his own theme song with the title 'The Youth on a Horse (策马正 少年).'

The drama, which consists of 40 episodes (original versions) and 33 episodes (CCTV versions), can be watched through several streaming applications, namely Tencent Video, Wetv, CCTV Channel 8, Viki, Prime Video, and MZTV Exclusive.
