Directed by Yin Tao, The Blood of Youth has been ranked first on trending in Youku Indonesia since its first release.

The drama with the fantasy wuxia genre, released in December 2022, has been stable in first place throughout the drama's release date. Even though this drama ended on January 28, 2023, until now, this drama remains fourth on trending in Youku Indonesia.

The blood of youth has a rating of 8.9/10 on IMDb, 8.8/10 on MyDramaList, and 9.6/10 on Viki. With the acquisition of high scores on those several movie rating websites, it's unsurprising that this drama is in the top trending.

Like its title, The Blood of Youth takes young actors: Li Hong Yi, Liu Xue Yi, and Ao Rui Peng as the main characters. This drama also takes other young actors like Lin Boyang, Lin Xinze, and Flora Dai. Even though it focuses on wuxia fantasy, this drama is also spiced with politics, comedy, and romance, making it even more interesting to watch.

The intense chemistry between the actors makes this drama seem alive without feeling awkward while watching it. The chemistry of the three main characters in this drama is solid. This makes the audience feel their mood, laugh at the cuteness and silliness that they make, and even get goosebumps with their teamwork and cooperation.

The Blood of Youth, which was adapted from a novel entitled 'Shao Nian Ge Xing' (少年歌行) by Zhou Mu Nan (周木楠), tells the journey of youths in the world of martial arts. Before this drama, the novel was adapted into a donghua (animation) with the same title as the novel, 'Shao Nian Ge Xing' (The Great Journey of Teenagers).

The live-action in drama has scenes that are similar to the donghua, which is one of this drama's additional values. Also, the excellent quality CGI is capable and pleasing to the eye. It's no longer a secret that fantasy dramas produced in China must have good CGI effects and spoil the eyes of the audience.

Divided into 40 episodes, The Blood of Youth focuses on the friendship and journey of the three main characters, namely Xiao Se (Li Hong Yi), Wu Xin (Liu Xue Yi), and Lei Wu Jie (Ao Rui Peng), in achieving their goals.

Their journey begins with Xiao Se (Li Hong Yi), the owner of the Xueluo inn, meeting Lei Wu Jie (Ao Rui Peng), who makes a fuss with the robbers who want to rob Xiao Se's inn. Using the excuse of demanding the damage to the inn caused by Lei Wu Jie, Xiao Se followed Lei Wu Jie to Xueyue City. Due to an incident on their way to Xueyue city, they meet Wu Xin (Liu Xue Yi), a young monk with extraordinary talent. He became a bone of contention and an enemy of many people because he controlled secret powers.

This is where their friendship and journey begin. The three people with different personalities, ranging from the miserly innkeeper, the innocent youth from the Lei clan, and the narcissistic young monk, make for an interesting friendship.
